Class 1 have been on a 'bear hunt' around Bromesberrow school! We have made a big bear hunt cave for our role play area, small clay bear caves, bear hunt masks and big bear footprints. We have been very busy! All our work has been based on 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury.

We have been looking at 2D and 3D shape during our numeracy lessons for the last few weeks. The children have really enjoyed our shape work and it has been fantastic to hear that this interest has emerged at home. We have looked for shapes in the classroom and around our school. We were amazed at the variety of shapes we encounter every day but do not really notice! We have made 2D shape balloons, as well as 2D and 3D straw shapes.
We all enjoyed sampling the different types of fruit seen in the story of 'Handa's Surprise.'This was part of our topic work on 'ourselves' as well as being a great forerunner to Harvest. The children were encouraged to explore their sense of taste and discuss their preferences.
