This term we have have been learning about electricity. We made circuits, and then we decided to use our circuits to make WORKING fairground rides!

We researched fairground rides on the internet and then worked in small groups to design and build our own rides. We used small motors and an elastic band to turn a cotton reel. We chose to use a variable resistor, which is like a dimmer switch, in our circuits, so that we could control how fast our rides turned. This was a good idea, as some of our first attempts resulted in the customers being slung off into the classroom walls at speed!!!!

We think our finished models will pass the Health & Safety regulations, as well as being fun for the customers!

We have really enjoyed our project and feel very proud of our models.
