Pupil Premium

What is the Pupil Premium?

At Bromesberrow St. Mary's Church of England Primary school, we want all of our children to flourish and thrive. Our Vision is 'Shining Together, We Reach for the Stars' and it is this culture of togetherness and aspiration, which supports all our children to make excellent progress. We recognise that all our children are unique and have different starting points and needs. Pupil Premium funding is a way to support schools to work towards equity and equality in learning and experience.

‘The Government believes that the Pupil Premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most.

The Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011 and is allocated to schools to work with pupils who have been registered for free school meals at any point in the last six years (known as ‘Ever 6 FSM’)

Nationally, the statistics show that students who are in receipt of FSM do less well than their peers academically. The aim of this money is to try to diminish that attainment gap. This is something we are passionate about!

Below is our current Pupil Premium Strategy, outlining how we are using this money to support all our pupils to be successful.
